Client questionnaires

I generally will have a phone conversation with you to gather information, direct you to the forms I'd like you to complete and then visit with you at your home, place of work or anywhere else behavior occurs that we want to teach or change. 

Behavior may or may not be changed and fear-based behavior cannot be "cured" BUT we can make positive change. What degree of change we cannot predict and will only be able to answer that question once we do the work.  Everything we do together is to effect positive change in behavior that improves the quality of life for your dog(s), your family and your community.

My services are based on the types of training and behavior we're teaching or changing. Consults are utilized to assess, gather information, observe your dog in its natural environment, discuss environment management and supervision, determine safety, explore realistic training/behavior goals, formulate a training/behavior modification plan. Consults can last from 30 minutes to 2.5 hours. Individual or Package Visits can last from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours. 

The duration of any consult or visit is ALWAYS dictated by the ability of your dog to feel safe and comfortable with my presence, to being able to focus and actively participate in the session and is ALWAYS at my discretion.

I classify dogs in four levels as described below. There is a mandatory package of visits required for Levels 3 and 4 due to the serious nature of the behavior and the risk of those behaviors to anyone living in the home, visitors, companion animals, the client dog(s), the general public and other animals.

Additional dog(s): Where training is for 2 or more dogs and the training / behavior modification is the same Level, the fee is an additional 50% for 1 extra dog and 25% for the 2nd or more dogs. If the training / behavior modification for each dog is a different Level, full fees for each Level applies.

I work most days of the week: mornings, afternoons, evenings. Weekend sessions fill more quickly but I make every effort to meld your availability with mine. 

Puppy Basics: You & Your Puppy Together On the Road to a Great Life

• For puppies 7-20 weeks of age. Getting your puppy settled into his new home and new people. Teaching you about your puppy and his world, teaching your puppy the basic skills to navigating the crazy human world. 

   Puppy Package: $1000

• 8 Visits. Package includes reading materials, handouts, reports, homework, phone / text / email support for 90 days upon completion of last visit.   

Level 1: Basic Life Skills and Manners (for dogs 5 months and older)

• Teaching your dog basic skills to be happy, appropriate, safe and comfortable in the human world with people, other animals and in various environments.

Consult: $200

   Individual Visits: $150

   8 Visits Package: $1000

• Visits and packages include reading materials, handouts, reports, homework, phone / text / email support for 90 days upon completion of last visit.   

Level 2: Shy / Fearful

• A dog that is fearful, anxious, stressed about 1 or more things. May retreat or bark/growl and retreats or stand its ground.

Consult: $250: 

   Individual Visits: $200

   6 Visit Package:  $1000

• Visits and packages teach foundation skills and introduce behavior modification protocols. They include reading materials, handouts, behavior modification plans and protocols, reports, homework,  phone / text / email support for 90 days after last visit

Level 3: Reactive / Aggressive without Contact 

• A dog that reacts to 1 or more triggers by barking, growling, lunging forward, moving towards the trigger(s), air snapping but has NOT made contact with it's muzzle or teeth to a person, dog or other animal. 

Consult: $300: 

​   MANDATORY Package: Behavior Modification: $2000

• 8 sessions. This package begins the process of behavior modification. There may be a need for additional sessions to reach the desired level of behavior modification.
• Packages include reading materials, handouts, behavior modification plans and protocols, reports, homework, phone /text / email support for 120 days after last visit

Level 4:  Reactive/Aggressive with Contact: 

• A dog that is fearful, anxious, stressed by 1 or more triggers and reacts by barking, growling, lunging forward, pursuing the trigger either from in front or from behind, air snapping, and has made physical contact with its muzzle and/or inflicted any level of bite, regardless of the degree of the injury caused to any person or animal. 

Consult: $350:

   MANDATORY Package: Behavior Modification: $2400

• 8 sessions. This package begins the process of behavior modification. There may be a need for additional sessions to reach the desired level of behavior modification.
• Packages include reading material, handouts, behavior modification plans and protocols, reports, homework, muzzle (if needed), phone / text / email support for 120 days after last visit.

Consults with Veterinarians or Veterinary Behaviorists, telephonic, virtual or in-person: $150 + any applicable travel fee

Legal Services: $5000 Retainer Fee, $150 per hour

Travel Fee #1: $100 for travel to any destination between 15-25 miles from my home.

Travel Fee #2: $150 for travel to any destination in NJ beyond 25 miles and less than 50 miles from my home.

Travel Fee #3: >50 miles for travel to any destination in NJ or for any travel Out of NJ: $3.50 per mile + tolls/parking

AKC Canine Good Citizen and AKC Urban Canine Good Citizen Titles

• Classes to teach/prepare: $75 per class
• Evaluation/Test: $50

Service Dog Training: Fee will be dependent on the type of service the dog needs to provide.

Shelter/Rescue canine Assessment: 20% discount

Shelter/Rescue Initial Consult, Individual Sessions or Packages: 20% discount

There is a 3.5% surcharge when paying by credit card.

Payment for a Consult is due upon completion of the consultation.

Package fees are paid in full at the time of booking or upon completion of a consult. 

I accept cash, checks, credit cards and various payment apps i.e. Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, PayPal, Square. There is a 3.5% surcharge for the use of a credit card.

​I offer a 20% discount to shelter and rescue organizations for initial assessments and packages (Travel Fees are NOT discounted).
